Bees Swarm Downtown Denver Parking Meter

DENVER (CBS) ― People find all kinds of excuses as to why they don't feed the parking meter, but on Friday people who parked outside Denver's tallest building had perhaps the best reason yet.

Honeybees swarmed on a parking meter outside the Republic Plaza at 17th and Tremont.

The bees startled many people walking by.

"I'm scared of bees," Javier Serna told KCNC-TV. "I've been stung once and I don't want to get stung again."

Denver police closed part of the road so a beekeeper could clear out the insects.

While some people took pictures of the bees, some people walked by not knowing what all the "buzz" was about.
