A squirrel went nuts Wednesday at a San Jose elementary school, attacking one student and a couple of adults, reports CBS station KPIX-TV in San Francisco.
The squirrel scampered into a classroom in the Evergreen school district and bit two adults. As it ran out, it bit an 11-year-old girl, said Evergreen School Principal Kathy Shepard.
Someone called 911, police and ambulances were summoned and the injured were treated at the hospital for minor wounds. All three will receive a precautionary rabies vaccination, though an animal control spokesperson said she had never heard of rabies in a ground squirrel.
The Evergreen school district has reported wild animal attacks in the past, KPIX-TV reported, but the squirrel was the first creature to injure people.
