Pit Bull Mom Loves Her Kittens

STOUGHTON, Mass. (CBS) ― Pit bulls aren't commonly known as compassionate dogs.

But there's one in Stoughton that's getting a reputation as one. She's become a mother-figure to three orphaned kittens.

Emma Riley adopted Ramona, a 3-year-old pit bull, from the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals a few years ago.

Last week, Riley took in three kittens from the MSPCA. In the short time they've been in her Stoughton home, Ramona has taken them under her wing.

Riley says her pit bull cleans them, snuggles with them in their crate, plays with them, watches over them while they sleep and showers them with affection.

The kittens appear to believe Ramona is their mother and they return the affection.

Riley is taking care of the kittens until they are old enough to be placed into the adoption program and permanent homes can be found for them.
