Wine Helping Women Look Younger
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Drink enough wine, and you may not be concerned with looking younger.
But for those who prefer to stay sober, a new eye cream with from a legendary
vineyard in France promises a younger look with the help of wine.
Women go to great lengths for their eyes cucumbers, tea bags, and frozen peas - anything to get rid of puffiness and wrinkles. Even 'Preparation H' has been put to the task. Now an expensive French wine can be added to the list.
"I love using the eye cream," said Ellen Regenbogen.
Dior's new L'Or de Vie eye cream is made from Chateau d'Yquem, a premium dessert wine, which contains a rich concentration of antioxidants.
Regenbogen says she tested all sorts of anti-aging products, and for her, this new cream is one of the few that's making a difference.
"My skin is much smoother," said Regenbogen. "I've noticed that my skin is much firmer."
Dior says the unique combination of antioxidants from the vine of the Yquem grape reverses skin damage and aging, by stimulating cell and collagen growth.
"This product is quite different because it has the most potent combination of antioxidants available in over the counter preparations," said Dr. Neil Sadick.
Dr. Sadick, is a dermatologist who consultants for Dior. He says the product improves skin tone in 8 weeks. A Manhattan dermatologist affirmed the benefits of wine in eye cream.
Dr. Fran E. Cook-Bolden told CBS 2 HD "We know wine is a very powerful antioxidant, and there's been over 30 years of research put into the antioxidant properties of wine and topical substances."
The wine-based eye cream was peer reviewed in a major dermatology journal, which is a significant step for the cosmetic industry.
But of course, that's not proof it works. As with most products, results are on an individual basis.
