UPDATE: Police Arrest Lakewood Religious Fraud
LAKEWOOD, N.J. (CBS) ―
In March, CBS 2 featured a story about an upstanding member of Lakewood's Jewish community who turned out to be a con, using a passport of a deceased person to create a new identity for himself.
Natan Levy apparently wanted to rid himself of a criminal past, and went as far as growing a full beard and immersing himself in a religious program at Yeshiva Bais Medrash Govoha to become part of a faith he didn't belong to.
CBS 2 had initially reported Levy was arrested by the FBI, though this information was only half-correct.Levy was indeed arrested, but by local authorities and NOT the FBI.
At the time of his arrest, he was living with his wife and four children in their Lakewood home.
