CBS 2 VIEWERS SALUTE CREW ABOARD FLIGHT 1549:
I truly feel that the manner you brought the plane down successfully and devoid of tragedy is most admirable and gallant I as a New Yorker salute you and your crew.
-Stanley Kornberg, Syosset, NY
To Captain Sullenberger and His Crew Members: I live in front of the Hudson River and was alerted by my sister (out of state) on that fateful day when Our Father in Heaven was your co-pilot. I'm thankful and grateful that you and your team were all united in your skill and experienced to have saved the lives of your passengers. From what I see in the printed and televised interviews, I am touched and awed by your humble demeanor. God Bless and Keep you, your excellent Flight Team, and your families.
-Maria Meade, NYC
God bless you, Captain Sully. You are truly an exemplar for all, because you have shown us not only incredible heroism in the face of adversity, but the importance of humility, too. Our society could use a few more 'Sullys' in these troubled times. You truly are a role model for children and adults alike. Thank you!

Dear Capt. Sully & Esteemed Crew. Bless you all for the great job that you did landing flight 1549 safely. May you always enjoy good health and know how many people applaud you. Thanks again.....the Watts/Haar Family.
-Maria Haar, North Brunswick, NJ
I wrote to President Barack Obama last week and I said 'Mr.president if I were you I'd make Captain Sullenburger next in line to be my Air Force One pilot.' He also served as a fighter pilot for his country after all. Thanks Sully and crew!
-Steven Morrison, Dix Hills, NY
Your conscience teaches your mind how to think, your heart how to feel, your soul how to obey and most importantly your body how to perform extraordinary act of bravery, bravery, charity and human kindness when it came to saving the lives of your fellow crew and passengers.

You are a hero...so nice to hear good news when it could have been catastrophic! Makes me realize that life is way too short!
-Christine Daniels, Neptune, NJ
I want to first say that I am so very happy to continue to see all this positive news on the crash. It is wonderful to watch such coverage on what could have been a tragedy turn into a happy ending. I want to salute you and your crew for your courage. I have not flown in over 25 years because of the fear of a crash. I have tried not to instill the same fear in my 5 children. After watching and listening to this amazing story, I would not even think twice to get on a plane that you and your crew were flying. I have always believed that once a plane went down, no matter what the circumstance, there would be no survivers. You have proved that in this situation it was THANKFULLY not the case. God Bless You! Your family must be so very proud. Wow, everytime I think or hear about this miracle, it continues to bring tears to my eyes.
-Sandy Balistrieri, Elmwood Park, NJ
Capt. Sully and his crew deserve every award and accalade one can think of. I hope your name is remembered for a very long time. You should be called upon for work by every well known individual, from the President on down.
-Cindy Moore, Far Rockaway, NY
I am extreamley touched and equally moved by your quick and carefully well though out decesions to turn what could of been a devastating and deadly situation into a mircle to save the lives of all the people on that plan. I have worked for the the airline industry in the past and never dreamed of being in that situation or what I would have done if I was. It truly changed my mind about ever flying again, but if I do I will forever remember that mircles do happen, because you and your crew are proof of Gods angels. I cry ever time I see your faces and hear your stories, you are just so cool and calm very well collected.
-Tynece Bostic, Elizabeth, NJ

-Jack S., Greenfield Park, NY
I am a NYC Firemen and some may say that going into a burning building is a heroic act or deed. But what you have done for all those people aboard your flight far surpasses that. The term Hero gets tossed around to loosely but I can not think of someone more deserving of the title then you. You are what the words cool, calm, and collective in a stressful situation stand for. Though I have never met you I still must show my gratitude and say thank you for everything you have done. I know you may say its all in a days work but the work you performed on that day was truly amazing. THANK YOU!!!
-Jay, Staten Island
Capt. Sullenberger Everyone thanks you and your crew for saving the lives of the passengers, but I would like to thank you for all those homes, schools, bridges, hospitals, (for me especially Fordham University), that you skillfully avoided. After all New York has been through it really deserves a true hero like you. God bless you!
-Noemi Axiotis, Fairfield, CT
Capt. Sully, You should be our next President of the United States. I love you, as do every American.

Harry Jones, Bronx, NY
To Sully and the Crew: As a New York resident I am so proud of you and your crew. You all put your knowledge and experience to work in a situation that warranted exactly that! The flying manuals need to be rewritten to incorporate this 'incident' as an example of what can be done when a situation like this arises. Many thanks as well to all those who assisted in this great city. What a way to start the year! God Bless you all.
-Mercedes Rivera, Bronx, NY
May God bless you always for saving the lives of the people in your plane. You will always be remembered as a hero. God bless you always!
-Gloria Diaz, NYC
You are all amazing. Captain Sully is the man I'd want when I do fly again. I'm terrified of flying. I'm certain if he and your team were flying the plane, I'd be able to get on one again. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME FAITH.
-Gloria Weiss, NYC
I am still amazed at the skill of the crew in handling this emergency. You all should be so proud and deserve all the adolation. I salute you and your crew on how you handled the situation. I am not sure if someone asked you this but I was wondering if your knowledge of flying glider planes also helped you in the landing. That landing was so amazing. I do not like flying but if you & your crew were on the plane, I would feel safe. Thanks again for such a great story!
-Patricia Wong, Tinton Falls
Dear Capt. Sullenberger: In all this excitment, you probably haven't had a chance for reality to set in. But, when it does just remember that it's not the could have happened, it's what happened. I wish you and your family all the best. I know God was your copilot that day and I pray that you the crew and all the passengers go on living their lives with much joy and happiness, thanks to God above. You are a true Hero.
-Pat Carlantone, Monroe, NY
Sully, You and your crew were outstanding. It is an honor knowing you. I find it a little ironic that the Mayor gave you the keys to New York City to go see Chicago! John Crocker Captain, US Airways, retired
-John Crocker, Tavernier, Florida Keys
I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your professionalism and for giving the world some good news for a change. I've never flown (I'm 50yrs old), but I would have no problem getting on a plane. I'm sure the entire aviation field is as proud of you as I am. You've all shown that if you know what you're doing and have been educated enough in your profession, you can do anything, including saving lives. Thank you for giving me and the rest of the world something to celebrate at a time when there's not much to celebrate about!!!
-Jean Pieczarka, West Milford, NJ
The Couric interview showed us you're a human being with an exterior calmness and focus on what has to be done. I celebrate you and your crew.
-Doris Kitson, NYC
Capt. Sully, You are a true American hero, not only to New Yorkers but to the entire country. You have renewed my trust in mankind. God Bless You and your entire crew.
-Linda A., Yonkers, NY
Captain Sully and Crew, Just wanted to leave a note and thank you for your true professionalism and heroism. All of your actions saved many lives on that dreadful day. Again job well done, and thank you for your service.
-Kevin, Montague, NY
This is a message specific to the flight attendants. In a time when people gripe about the reduction of services (food, beverages, entertainment, etc.) you reminded us of your true role, the safety of all on board. I don't think you'll ever be refered to as waitresses in the sky ever again. Thank you.
-Jim Smith, Newburgh, NY
