Chimpanzee Attack Victim To Appear On Oprah Show

CHICAGO (AP) ― A Connecticut woman who was mauled and blinded after a 200-pound chimpanzee attacked her in February will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Chicago-based Harpo Productions announced Monday in a statement that Charla Nash would appear on Wednesday's episode of Winfrey's talk show. Harpo says Nash "will discuss how she's adjusting to a new way of life, how she maintains her incredible spirit, and what the future holds for her."

The chimpanzee named Travis belonged to Nash's friend and employer, Sandra Herold. Nash was attacked by the animal after Herold asked her to help lure the chimpanzee back into Herold's house in Stamford, Conn.

The animal ripped off Nash's hands, nose, lips and eyelids. She is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where she is reported in stable condition.
