Cohen Bows Out Of Skate America With Tendinitis
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) ―
Sasha Cohen has withdrawn from this week's Skate America, the latest setback in the Olympic silver medalist's comeback.
Cohen said Monday she is still battling the tendinitis in her right calf that forced her to drop out of last month's Trophee Eric Bompard before the event. Emily Hughes, a member of the 2006 Olympic team, will take her place at Skate America in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Cohen says she still hopes to compete at the national championships in January. But with the U.S. women having only two spots at the Vancouver Olympics and Cohen being out of competition for three years, she would now seem to be a long shot.
